Competitive (circa. £42000-£60000 per annum / pro rata) depending on experience

Full time 5-days per week

Duties and Responsibilities

• First-hand opportunity to scale-up a range of synthetic methodologies to industrially relevant kilogram-plus scales.
• Tackle R&D challenges and develop new routes to fluorochemicals using our latest technology.
• Design and develop safety practices on scale, whilst contributing to the general high safety standards of the company.
• Design, recommend, and execute experimental work in organic and/or inorganic synthesis.

Skills

Essential

• A PhD in synthetic chemistry or equivalent
• Proven expertise in synthetic chemistry based on track record
• 2 years+ working or leading in an industrial scale-up/process role
• Experience in working on the kilogram-plus scale using jacketed reactor vessels or equivalent
• Experience in carrying out full safety assessment of scale-up processes
• A problem-solving mindset and the ability to think outside the box
• The ability to work efficiently on your own or as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and chemistry software suites (Scifinder, Chemdraw etc etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Right to live and work in the UK

Desirable

• Experience in process analytical technology (PAT)
• Experience in flow chemistry including scale-up flow chemistry
